I’ve been sewing for myself for most of my life. When I started Sew Darn Simple in 2004, I worked for an interior decorator doing home décor, such as pillows, patio cushions, ottomans, placemats, table runners, napkins and window treatments. I also made a lot of fabric purses, zipper wallets and cell phone cases, which I sold online and at craft shows.
I still do some home décor items, but my product line has expanded to include journal cases, quilts, and essential oil cases. All in a variety of sizes. And in fun, colorful, pre-washed cotton fabrics. Never one to scrimp on quality, every one of my hand-sewn items has a finished look throughout.
That means no rough seams inside any of my cases, pouches or zipper wallets. It also means adding extra layers of padding, fabric pull tabs and wrap-around zippers when they’re needed.
Sure, I could mimic many of my competitors and sell unfinished products for less money. My cases would take me a whole lot less time to create, and the cheaper price would attract more customers. But I take enormous pride in my work, and my longtime customers appreciate the attention to detail.
I take custom and wholesale orders. I also ship internationally. If you have any questions, just ask. And be sure to read my customer reviews.
